Windkeep Arts and Sciences Gathering Spring Quarter

Saturday March 29th from 10AM to 4PM

Come join the Shire of Windkeep for a day of comradeship focused around Arts and Sciences.  Everyone is welcome.

The primary focus of the day will be a class to make three cornered stools (Three legged Camp/Armoring Folding Stool).  Sir Mav is donating enough leather to make a small number of stools.  Materials for legs will also be included.  If you want to take part in the class (with free materials) please RSVP eneschal@windkeep.org early so we know how many people to expect for the class.  Decoration on the stools will be left to personal preference.

If you would like to attend but aren’t interested in the class, please join us anyway.  Bring whatever project you would like to work on that is library appropriate.  Calligraphy and paint are fine, but no open flames or caustic chemicals.  If in doubt, ask beforehand.

No A&S is necessary.  Everyone is welcome to just come and hang out, with or without a project to work on.

    On June 28th the Shire will be gathering at Ottar’s home to build new signs for the Shire.  The current intention is to build a few free standing sandwich boards style signs and a couple of t-post style signs to allow for different options depending on the situation.  Ottar is providing the space and most of the tools.  Please bring any materials you would like to donate.  Suggestions include plywood, t-posts, hinges, rope, screws, nails, paint and whatever you think might be useful.  We will start working at 10:30 in the morning.
    Everyone is welcome to show up and assist.  Or show up and offer suggestions, helpful and not.  (You know who you are.)  Really, all are welcome.
    At 11:30 there will be a BBQ held in conjunction with the sign building.  Ottar is providing burgers and brats.  Please bring a side dish to share.  When planning your side dish, reach out to Ottar by email (above) or phone to coordinate what to bring so we have a good distribution of dishes.

    Windkeep Quarterly A&S Gathering

    Fall Quarter Currently a space holder for October 4th at a site yet, to be determined. The theme of this gathering is to aid in ensuring all members have a adequate medieval winter coat for winter events. There will be a number of steps before to flow into the construction at the gathering. #1 Determining the size and amount of material required. #2  Investigation of the shire material stashes for material.  The cost will be determined by the material costs.  The gathering  is still in the planning stage.  Lady Ailionora inehn Eoghain   ArtsandSciences@Windkeep.org   is project leader. If you have a A&S project, you would like offer for later gatherings and Project Leader, please contact the Seneschale .  seneschal@windkeep.org  .
